 what are dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are injectable substances used to add volume, smooth wrinkles, and rejuvenate the appearance of the face. There are many types of fillers. Here at Infuse, we only use hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers, such as, Revanesse Versa, Revanesse Lips+, and Restylane.

Hyaluronic Acid Fillers (HA Fillers):

  • Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the body that helps maintain hydration and volume in the skin.

  • HA fillers are temporary and gradually break down over time, typically lasting from 6 to 18 months depending on the specific product and individual metabolism.

  • They are commonly used to add volume to areas such as the lips, cheeks, nasolabial folds (smile lines), and marionette lines.

  • Volume Restoration

  • Wrinkle Reduction

  • Lip Enhancement

  • Facial Contouring

when will I see results?

The timeframe for seeing results after getting dermal filler injections can vary depending on factors such as the type of filler used, the treated area, individual metabolism, and the extent of correction needed. However, unlike neurotoxins, many patients notice immediate improvement in the treated areas following the injection session.

  1. Immediate Results: In most cases, you'll notice some immediate improvement in the appearance of the treated area immediately after the filler is injected. This initial improvement is due to the volume added by the filler and any smoothing effect it provides.

  2. Initial Swelling: It's common to experience some swelling and possibly bruising in the treated area following filler injections. This swelling can temporarily obscure the final results and may take a few days to subside.

  3. Optimal Results: The full effects of the dermal filler typically become apparent once any initial swelling has resolved, usually within a week or two after the injection. At this point, you'll be able to appreciate the final outcome of the treatment, including improved volume, smoother skin, and diminished wrinkles or lines.

  4. Touch-Up Appointments: Depending on the desired level of correction and the specific filler used, you may need additional touch-up appointments to achieve your desired results fully.

It's essential to keep in mind that while fillers can provide long-lasting results, they are not permanent. Over time, the filler will gradually break down and be metabolized by the body, leading to a gradual return to the pre-treatment appearance. Individual experiences with filler duration may vary, and factors such as metabolism, lifestyle, and ongoing aging processes can affect how long the results last. Most HA fillers last approximately 6-18 months.
